Welcome to my blog, I‘m glad you found me! After several requests I have decided to start this blog describing the 6 month journey of a short distance triathlete "me" who has never competed in a triathlon longer than an Olympic distance triathlon and is now taking on the Hawaii Ironman Championship in Kona, Hawaii. This was a pure stroke of luck, why, because I just won a lottery slot in April, which was 1 of 200 lottery slots in the world. Game On!!!!

- Here’s a bit about me. I am 45 years old I have been running triathlons for about 9 years now. This is not including my false start in the sport of triathlon in 1988 when I tried to run a triathlon in the Bud Light Series and realized after hitting the water, I couldn’t swim!! Yep, nice eh? After 75 yards, I was hanging on to anything that would float, canoes, paddleboats, kayaks (other swimmers… just kidding), but that ¼ mile swim was very long! For my second swing at triathlon, I signed up for swim lessons and now I am a pretty good swimmer after 9 years of experimenting! I have concentrated only on short course races lasting from 1-3 hours, which I feel I have done pretty well at over the years and have enjoyed the speed of the short course tri's. So the road to the Ironman race in Kona will be very interesting and different. I do have a coach that I have used for 4 years now for triathlon training and that is Sonni Dyer who owns Studio 7 Multisport. He has gotten me faster each year as I have gotten older. So at age 45 that's proof of a great coach. Now his real challenge…to get me ready for the Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii! GAME ON!!
